Max Wattenberg, MD

INSTRUCTOR. Max completed his BA in biology at the University of Louisville in 2009. He then received his MD from the University of Louisville in 2014. In addition he spent a year at the NCI studying immune mediated mechanisms of radiation and monoclonal antibody combination therapy. He then successfully pursued his internship and residency in internal medical at UCSF ending in 2017. He is currently a medical oncology fellow at the University of Pennsylvania with a research focus on systemic immune health in GI cancers.

Meredith Stone, PhD

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER. Meredith completed her BS in Biology at Cornell University in 2012.  She then received her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 2017, working on the combination of epigenetic and immune therapies in a mouse model of ovarian cancer.  Currently, she is studying the impact of a primary pancreatic tumor on the development of a metastatic niche in the liver.

Devora Delman

PROJECT AND LAB MANAGER. Devora completed her undergraduate training in Heath Science in Physiology at the University of Arizona. She has 8 years of experience in immunohistochemistry, project management and molecular biology.

Heather Coho

ANIMAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Heather completed her undergraduate training at the University of Delaware in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences. She directs the Animal Research Program in the Beatty Laboratory.

 

Yan Li, MD PhD

RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Yan completed her medical training at Wuhan University and graduate training at Sun Yat-sen University. She has over 15 years of experience in molecular biology and in vivo cancer modeling.

Xiao-Qing Pan, MD

RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Xiao-Qing completed her medical training at Nantong Medical College. She has over 25 years of experience in cell and molecular biology. She oversees tissue culture operations in the lab.

Kelly Markowitz, MS

HISTOLOGY RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Kelly completed her undergraduate training at Oberlin College in Biology and then received a Masters in Biology at Hofstra University.

Hana Choi

RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Hana completed her undergraduate training in Biotechnology at Yeungnam University followed by a certification in Biomedical Science from Rowan University, School of Osteopathic Medicine. She has expertise in molecular biology.

 
 

Jesse Lee

PHD GRADUATE STUDENT. Jesse completed his undergraduate studies at Brandeis University. He is now a PhD graduate student in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Pennsylvania. Jesse is studying mechanisms the regulate the formation of niche environments in organs that support cancer metastasis.

Stacy Thomas

MD PHD GRADUATE STUDENT. Stacy completed her undergraduate studies at Providence College. She is currently an MD PhD graduate student in the Immunology Graduate Group at the University of Pennsylvania. For her dissertation, Stacy is studying the role of macrophages in regulating cancer metastasis.

Jacqueline Plesset

PHD GRADUATE STUDENT. Jackie completed her undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Cornell University. She is currently a PhD graduate student in Cancer Biology. Jackie is interested in deciphering mechanisms regulating the fate of tumor-specific T cells in pancreatic cancer.

 

Shaanti Choi-Bose

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER. Shaanti is an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania. She has expertise in histology and the development of custom algorithms for the analysis of tissues.

Kayjana Infante

ANIMAL RESEARCHER. Kayjana completed her BS in Sociology at Delaware State University and is currently working towards a certification in radiologic technology. Kayjana has previous experience working with horses. Her experience includes equine husbandry, design and implementation of feeding and exercise schedules based on and individual horse’s needs, and administration of routine and emergency medical care.

Jennifer Ratmansky

HISTOLOGY RESEARCH SPECIALIST. Jennifer completed her undergraduate training at Bucknell University in Neuroscience. She has expertise in molecular biology and histology.

Rebecca Yelton

RESEARCH AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT. Rebecca completed her undergraduate training in Linguistics at Temple University.
